Our Name

Palmetto State Web is a new name and a new angle for a business which has been around for 14 years. Why the new name? The Internet is filled with thousands of "web designers" which may mean anything from your 12-year nephew who knows Flash to the six-figure programmers who power Google.com and Microsoft.com. Therefore we chose a name to reflect a local presence in South Carolina, and focus on providing services to the businesses that fill our state; small to medium privately-owned companies operating within a budget and proud of their roots.

Our History

Founder and CEO, Terry Peterson, began a venture of creating 3D graphics and animation for Banjo Video & Film Production (now Wray Media) in 1995, while still a student at Dutch Fork High School. Thank you a million times over for the recommendation Ms. Horton. This experience led into creating logos, animations and other designs for SouthCarolina.com (under different ownership at the time) as well as FeaturePrice.com... and so began the foray into website design.

Registered in South Carolina under the name Peterson Limited Co. and operating through PetersonLimited.com, Terry has designed websites, designed logos and consulted with companies all over the world from South Carolina to California, Austria to Australia. A growing customer base and more advanced projects has led to bringing in additional designers and programmers, through which Terry continues to involve himself deeply in every project.

Today...

Today, Palmetto State Web is focused on filling a niche which has been left void by other "web designers". We build professional looking websites which are functional and easily found by search engines, affordable, and are incredibly easy for the owner to maintain. We don't believe you should have to hire a programmer at $50/hr every time you want a new page, changed text, or pictures moved around on your website. For the restaurant owner who wants to post a special of the day, for the retailer who wants to run a sale, for the auto dealer with a constantly changing inventory; we realize you operate on a budget and being a business-owner means wearing many hats. If you can update a Microsoft Word document and you can find 15 minutes, you can maintain your Easy-to-Update Website.
